Teen Counselling in Mumbai and Online

Being a teenager is a lot: exams, friendships, family expectations, social media and a changing sense of who you are. Teen counselling in Mumbai and online gives young people a private space to talk it through. Sometimes it helps to talk to someone who is not a parent or a teacher.

Trijog’s adolescent team works with teenagers in Mumbai, in person and online. Parents are kept in the loop in a way the teenager is comfortable with.

The short answer

Teen counselling gives adolescents a private space to talk about stress, exams, mood, friendships, screens, identity and family conflict with a trained professional. Trijog offers counselling for teenagers in Mumbai at its Powai, Bandra and Prabhadevi centres and online, with parent sessions when they help.

What teenagers often talk about

Teenagers rarely come in saying “I need therapy.” More often a parent notices something has changed, or the teenager says they are tired of feeling a certain way.

Privacy and parents

For counselling to work, teenagers need to feel they can be honest. Our therapists explain at the start what stays private and what would be shared with parents, for example if there is a risk to safety.

Parents can have separate sessions to understand what is going on and how to help at home.

For parents

If you are worried, try to start a conversation without pressure. Say what you have noticed, and that you would like them to have someone to talk to. Offering a choice, such as online or in person, often makes it easier to say yes.
